    cpanelmail from Lucidstorm

    Something happened last night when I added Tweak options Squirrle Mail and Horde mail as options.

    The cpanelmail script http://lucidstorm.com/scripts.php worked just fine. Actually had a forward script working.

    I had a customer request access to SquirrelMail Webmail and Horde Webmail to see if they would rather use them. Once I added the options the script just quit adding the emails or the email forwards.

    It appears to be a problem with sockets using the fsockopen($host:2082) or the Authentication.

    I have tried using /scripts/eashapache option 6 with many different options and this did not help.
    Code:
    $socket = fsockopen($host,2082);
            $authstr = "$cpaneluser:$cpanelpass";
            // Use for subdomain emails
            $newemail = "$newuser";
            $socket = fsockopen($host,2082);
            $authstr = "$cpaneluser:$cpanelpass";
            $pass = base64_encode($authstr);

            // Use for subdomain emails
            $in = "GET frontend/$cpaneltheme/mail/doaddfwd.htm
    l?email=$newemail&domain=$domain&forward=$forward HTTP/1.0\r\nAuthorization: Basic
     $pass \r\n";
             fputs($socket,$in);
            fclose( $socket );

    Hi :

    Put :

    while(!feof($socket)) {
    echo fgets($socket,128);
    }

    between the lines :

    fputs($socket,$in);
    <code here>
    fclose( $socket );

    and tell us ...

    I put
    Code:
            fputs($socket,$in);
            while(!feof($socket)) {
            echo fgets($socket,128);
            }
            fclose( $socket );

    It took forever to complete, returned nothing and did not complete the cpanel forward.

    I tired it in the cpanelmail signup script also. it responded much quicker with no results.

    I also added
    $socket = fsockopen($host,2083,$errno, $errstr, 30);
    and
    if (!$socket) {
    echo "$errstr ($errno)<br>\n";
    } else {
    print "<H1>OK</H1>";
    fputs($socket,$in);
    while(!feof($socket)) {
    echo fgets($socket,128);
    }
    fclose( $socket );
    }

    Return is quick. No results in cpanel.

    Do not know exactly what I did to get this working. I have this on two servers. Both were working then I did an update and both quite working.

    I used my spare server to make changes. I noticed the subdomains in /etc/valiases/sub.domain.com were not owned by the owner and group of mail.

    I am running
    WHM 8.5.4 cPanel 8.5.4-E62
    RedHat 9 - WHM X v2.1.1
    Module Latest Version Installed Version Status
    Apache Core 1.3.29 1.3.29
    Passthrough Authentication 1.8 1.8
    Bytes Logger 1.2 1.2
    Bandwidth Limiter 1.0 1.4
    PHP 4.3.4 4.3.3
    FrontPage 5.0.2.2634 5.0.2.2634
    mod_ssl 2.8.16 2.8.16
    OpenSSL 0.9.7a

    I have the Cpanel/WHM Updates: Automatic (STABLE tree)
    Automatic (RELEASE tree)
    Automatic (bleeding EDGE tree)
    Critical Updates Only (RELEASE tree)
    * Manual Updates Only (STABLE tree)

    Can someone tell me how to see what options I have for the Apache build? I did several /scripts/easyapache option 6.
    Does it show what I have or default to certain values when I access easyapache in the WHM or /scripts/easyapache?

    This one has me puzzled. Maybe tomorrow I will attempt to make the changes again to track what I have done.

    Don't you just love this stuff!

    Great! did the fix include altering the cpanel script? e.g:

    while(!feof($socket)) {
    echo fgets($socket,128);
    }

    or other modofication to the script?

    Thanks
    Nik

    No.
    No modification to the script. I was rewriting it, while tracing the process to just write to the /etc/valiases/domain.com I noticed the permissions.

    But as I stated I also recomplied apache, yet another time and I believe I updated/downgraded (which ever) the cPanel.

    That is my delima. I did too many things to know exactly the fix. I have been searching to see how I might find the environment I am using.

    Found cpanelmail fix for me

    So far I find no other problems, but who knows.
    I did a Change Update Preferences changing the preferences to
    Code:
    [b]Cpanel/WHM Updates:  [/b]
      Automatic (STABLE tree)
      Automatic (RELEASE tree)
      Automatic (bleeding EDGE tree)
      Critical Updates Only (RELEASE tree)
      Manual Updates Only (STABLE tree)
    [COLOR=red]*[/COLOR]Manual Updates Only (RELEASE tree)
      Manual Updates Only (EDGE tree)
      Never Update
    [b]DarkORB Package Updates: [/b]
    [COLOR=red]*[/COLOR]Automatic
     Manual Updates Only
     Never Update
    [b]Security Package Updates:  [/b]
    [COLOR=red]*[/COLOR]Automatic
     Manual Updates Only
     Never Update

    Then I ran /scripts/upcp. That fixed it on the origional server.

    New version of CpanelMail!!!

    Hi all,
    Just to let you know there is a new version of CpanelMail. All problems have been fixed we are now considering it one of our major software projects. Support will be swift, updates will be provided and you guys are the ones who will benefit.
    We have moved to a payment for the script, but at $15 and as the only script out there like this, we think the move is justified. This payment will allow us to devote the time and resources necessary to keep this project going, and of course you guys happy.
    Thankyou all for your participation in pushing us to develop this unique piece of software.

    Does it still use the cPanel commands and fsockopen?

    Seems the updates continually cause the old one to stop working.

    POP account creation script. Runs fine on Win2000, not on Linux

    Well, I am able to create POP account when my script runs on Win2000 PC (PHP 4.3.1) (connects to CPanel Linux server), but now when it runs on CPanel Linux (PHP 4.3.4) itself.

    Please view the thread at
    http://forums.cpanel.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=17084 for more details.

    Cpanel Updates

    There should no longer be any problem with cpanel updates the script now checks the connection properly and waits for responses from the server which was the original problem.

    Best Regards,
