I have eg MyDomain.com running, and I need to add Origin.MyDomain.com, both with SSL.
I need Origin.MyDomain.com to point to / pull data from the main MyDomain.com (which is public_html with this current setup)
problems I am having - with autossl I can secure MyDomain.com and several other defaults fine, but when I add an alias, Origin. it shows up in the Manage Installed SSL Websites page with a red-not-locked-icon.
If I update the cert there to have it auto fill and secure the Origin. - it then puts all the others that were green,
(
I've tried setup as subdomain, alias, and then tried as addon domain (after reading some support threads around) - nothing seems to be working.
I found a possible wildcard add-in option using command line, but not sure if that's the best way considering we are also using autossl with cpanel, and not sure that would even work if we found a way to get it added (
Looking at the docs here: Let's Encrypt for cPanel
My menus and such look nothing like the examples in whm or cpanel.. although I just noticed a CLI set of instructions at bottom of that page - maybe doing some of that with the 'reuse' flag thing might make this work out?
So it appears that wildcard via the current autossl thing I have enabled in whm/cpanel is not an option? The graphics and naming seem off from some of the Docs I've seen.
I grasp why it's enabled ssl for both at the moment, as it makes one ssl one way and a different certificate if I do it the other way, which then means that validation checks for the first setup would fail as they are no longer there...
The reason I am doing is to enable a CDN to pull from the Origin.MyDomain, but it's need a valid ssl to do it's thing apparently.
To add some extra layers of possible wrenches in the works we are pushing the domain to and through cloudflare for some DNS protection, and have added a layer of nginx with some custom code.. but I don;t think those things are affecting this ssl creation issue.
Ideas for making this work with cpanel would be appreciated!
