I have a question in regards to the Pages/Hits per IP reported by AWStats vs the number of log entries.

I have a site that has 598 log entries for an IP yet AWStats is reporting roughly a 3 fold increase for the Pages/Hits 1776/1782.

Shouldn't roughly each log entry translate to a single hit?

    Best regards,
    Eric

    Hello :)

A hit can include files accessed as part of the website (e.g. css files or images). There's documentation on this at:

    AWStats Documentation - Glossary

    Thank you.

I realize that but shouldn't the additional files like images, css, etc have a separate log entry showing them being requested?

    Best regards,
    Eric
