Heres the dilema.... Ive cancelled my current dedicated server provider and signed up with another.

Ive taken everything from cpbackup directory and saved it locally to my computer. All files that were in there were weekly backups of all accounts.

Once new server is set up, and I have backup set up, can I upload all of that stuff to the new empty cpbackup directory and restore it from there using WHM backup/restore feature?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Yep, thats about it. If the old server is still up and you have access to it, you'd save a lot of time by moving from WHM to the new rig though.

Yeah, Im hoping it will be BUT, figured I better take the time to make the backup just in case. Its only 15 gigs to upload on a 1 mb up connection how long could it possibly take right?

15,000 minutes or so give or take? 250 hours?

When I transfer Cpanel backups between servers, I don't use the Cpanel transfer function. Could never get it to work for multiple accounts.

I normally wget the tarballs from the FTP server and save them on the new server in the /home directory.

My download speed was about 580kb/s.

Then I let Cpanel restore the accounts.
