We are creating a backup script and I was wondering if there are any other folders / files I should be backing up as well, in order to get a full backup of the server. Thanks.

/home
/etc/vfilters
/var/cpanel
/var/spool/cron
/usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/mailman
/var/lib/mysql
/etc/proftpd
/usr/local/frontpage
/var/log/bandwidth
/etc/valiases
/usr/share/ssl
/var/named
/etc/localdomains
/etc/rndc.conf
/etc/my.cnf
/etc/secondarymx
/etc/domainalias
/etc/named.conf
/etc/shadow
/etc/fstab
/etc/passwd
/etc/wwwacct.conf
/etc/group /etc/proftpd.conf
/root/.my.cnf
/etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf
/etc/quota.conf
/usr/local/apache/conf/httpd.conf
/etc/ips
/etc/reservedips
/usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/interchange/interchange.cfg

We just moved two full Cpanel servers within the last two weeks. These were the files/directories we copied:

FILES

/etc/domainalias
/etc/group
/etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf
/etc/localdomains
/etc/my.cnf
/etc/named.conf
/etc/passwd
/etc/proftpd.conf
/etc/quota.conf
/etc/shadow
/etc/wwwacct.conf
/root/.my.cnf
/etc/domainips
/etc/ips
/etc/userdomains
/usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/interchange/interchange.cfg
/usr/local/apache/conf/httpd.conf

DIRECTORIES

/usr/local/cpanel/base
/etc/proftpd
/etc/valiases
/etc/vfilters
/usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/mailman
/usr/local/frontpage
/usr/share/ssl
/var/cpanel
/var/lib/mysql
/var/log/bandwidth
/var/named
/var/spool/cron
/home

The moves went extremely smooth without a single problem, so if you include the files/directories above on your backup script you will be able to restore the server from scratch in less than 10 minutes :)

Sorry, missed the named files/dirs:

/var/named
/etc/named.conf
/etc/rndc.conf

iminteractive,

Take a look above, I missed a few, also note that the fstab.conf file should not be restored therefore should not be backed up either ;)

IS THIS LIST STILL CURRENT

Greetings,

Is this list current with the latest linux distro for 8.5.3 ?

If not any update would be appreciated.

Thanx,
