What is the best way to back up a user's mail account?
I have an account on the server. I plan on deleting it and reinstalling it, but I do not wish for them to lose the mail that they have. They have about 5 mail accounts setup, and I'd like to keep them / back them up before I delete the account and recreate it on the server.

Thanks in advance for the advice.

you may run the backup for /scripts/pkgacct CpanelUsername via root to run a full backup for the user.

I was looking for more of a "How-To"...but i found it in another forum:

Login Via root and type this

cd /scripts
./pkgacct username
Thanks for your help though.

what is a good cmd to run to backup it up?
Can you elaborate more? The above command will run a full backup on that particular Cpanel user account.

Optionally, you may also generate a full backup via the user's Cpanel control panel

looks like you have found the answer for your own. The command I pasted on my first reply will work the same way as you get from another thread. :)

there's none unless you manually zip the whole user's mail directory.
