Backing Up WordPress Site

    I have a blog - Removed - and I wanted to ask if it safe to use file manager in cpanel for archiving entire directories and files or its better and safer use a wordpress backup plugin ?

    One thing about using a WordPress plugin is many of them have the ability to restore.

    You can't just use File Manager because that only provides access to the files - generally the database housing your WP content is far more important. That being said, a backup plugin for WP is ideal but you could also just generate a full cPanel backup as well. Make sure of course to store it elsewhere.

    Yes, as mentioned, your MySQL database is the key item you should backup. This document explains how you can backup your account through cPanel, assuming your hosting provider has enabled the feature:
