I really like how inside cPanel, when you hit full backup, it gives you the dates... is there anyway we can automate this process on a nightly basis and have the backup in the /home folder? please help if you can.

    Hey,

In your root WHM login and go to Backup > Configure Backup and read the directions on that page...

Yes, you can automate the backup process and run it nightly. This functionality is built-in to WHM. Just go to WHM-->Backup-->Configure Backup to setup your backup options. This will runa cron job every day.

There is a great discussion on why you do NOT want to backup to your /home directory or any directory with user quota enabled. See the following:

I've been reading it, maybe I should read it once more out loud.
