Hi everyone,
I have a cpanel WHM reseller account and was wondering if anyone has any advice on backing up all the sites in my account (I don't have root access to the server.). Currently, I just use the backup option in each account's cpanel but this takes quite a while. I was wondering if there was an automated way of doing this or perhaps using a script that backs up all the accounts when run.

The company that I lease from said I may be able to accomplish this using cron

Any help is appreciated

Is that to say they don't perform server backups?

If that's the case, I'd say it's time to find a new provider!

Where I am at there is 4 levels of backups performed every night and in live real time
using both the Cpanel backup server setting for daily, weekly, monthly plus server based
backups independent of Cpanel, plus off site backup storage, and server mirroring.

Basically in a nutshell -- darn near impossible to lose any data

You can log into cpanel for each account and download the backup's there.

The way I do backup's is I mount a drive from my backup server as a network file share so I always have a daily off server backup but that's just me.

WHM backups

your WHM reseller account should have the ability to perform back ups on selected accounts via WHM. This negates the need to login into each individual account.

I think that whom ever has assigned you the WHM reseller account (should) be able to add this control into your WHM pages.

It's basically a checkbox next to each account. It simplifies things a bunch. Ask the provider of your WHM if this function/privelege is turned on for you.

Again, I think this is available for reseller accounts as well as the root administrator.

Would you mind telling me how you do this? Do you mount the remote share via VPN, or do you just mount it? Do you use SMB / NFS?

There is no backup options for resellers.
Atleast not in release builds.
