Backup an account

    Hi, i am wondering what steps would i take if i want to transfer/backup an entire account including folders,files, and databases ? . Also if this helps it has to be done through a reseller account or the client cpanel account i do not have access to the admin whm just a reseller whm. thanx.

    you should have a backup option in your cpanel control panel..... that will compress everything, email, databases, files, etc... into a tar.gz file so you can download it from your home directory via FTP....

    if that option isn't there, contact your host, and ask them to turn on that option....

    that link has many backup options do i do all of them?

    in the cpanel control panel:

    Backup -> Generate/Download a Full Backup

    just hit "Generate Backup"


    it will send you an email when it's done, then you can FTP in and download it....
