Are there any issues with carrying out a partial backup or restore on a user account in Cpanel, while logged in as root?

i.e. is WHM/Cpanel smart enough to not apply the wrong permissions anywhere?

i.e. Should you only carry out these activities while logged into Cpanel as the actual user account concerned?

You should be fine backing up a user account while logged in as root user. You are running the backup from the account, so it's being ran as the user.

Not sure what you mean by partial backup though.

If you use our tools to perform the restoration then anything that happens in areas under the user's control will be performed as the user. We don't provide support for partial restoration ( to my knowledge ).
