Hello all.

This is my first post, but thanks to all your posts as they have helped me set up my 2 servers and get through a few problems, however I am having trouble backing up my server, and cannot find a post to help.

I have 2 servers, a master server with all my sites setup on it, and a slave server, that I have setup, with a trust relationship to the master server. I have cpanel on both servers, and want to backup from the master to the slave.

I want to backup all virtual sites, email, mysql databases, and any other settings possible.

My second server is in place firstly as my seconadry name server, and also to be there in case of a failure on my master server so I may restore all data as quickly as possible to save my customers lengthy downtime.

Thanks in advance to any one who helps.

A couple of ways that you can copy backups to the second machine:

1. Use the cPanel backup feature to FTP the backups over.

2. rsync the backups over using cron.

3. scp the backups over using cron.

which would you suggest is the best way?

backup using the cpanel backup feature to the local machine then rsync using cron to the slave server, as it seems to suggest that only accounts will be backep up using ftp..
