I changed the backup system from legacy to new one.

I just want to clarify that the option of "Mount Backup Drive as Needed" only works if backup directory hasn't been mounted, right? If it's already mounted, will backup system skip mounting the drive?

Hello,

If you are using local path to set backup configuartion and not using any other "separate drive/Network File System (NFS) mount" drive for backup then you need disable "Mount Backup Drive as Needed" option.

It's an USB drive. Actually, mount was realized flawlessly, the thing is when backup completed system didn't apply umount command. Namely, for next backup time, there is no need to mount a disk.

Hello :)

Per the description of this option:

Select this option to mount a backup drive. If the Mount Backup Drive as Needed feature is enabled, the Backup Configuration process will look at the /etc/fstab file for a backup mount.

Note:
When this feature is enabled, it requires a separate mount point. If a mount exists with the same name as the staging directory, the Backup Configuration process will mount the drive and backup the information to the mount. After the backup is complete, the drive will be dismounted. If the feature is disabled, then the Backup Configuration process will not look in the /etc/fstab file for a mount.
Thank you.
