Backup cPanel Account without WHM

Hi there,

I have a reseller account with a hosting provider, the level of reseller account I have doesn't provide me with WHM > Backups access. Is there a way without needing to upgrade to manually trigger a daily backup of files and databases (CRON?) so that I can download or full from the server. The backup is then to be used for a local mirror copy of the site on a private network.

I've read these threats but they require the Backup access in WHM.

What is the icon name? I can't find "Full Website Backup" within my cPanel.

My apologies, Files section in your cPanel > Backup > Download Full Website Backup.

It appears that the hosting provider has disabled that feature too. Attached are sceenshots of the Files section and a search for "backup". Is this a feature that should be included with all cPanel accounts by default and should not be changed by the provider?

It is, yes. Hosting Providers that oversell might disable this option to prevent users from attempting to generate backups in the middle of the day, slowing the entire server down though, for example.

OK. Thanks for the heads up. Is there a way to get a complete cPanel backup otherwise - ie using a script or command line?

I don't think you can. You'll need to speak with your Hostng Provider.

I'm sorry, I cannot properly answer that as it's not a supported addon for cPanel and I've got no personal experience using it.
