Backup enhancement - select directories/files NOT to backup (e.g. fantastico)

I've just submitted a bugzilla report at http://bugzilla.cpanel.net/show_bug.cgi?id=2620 asking for an enhancement to the backup process.

In short, the bugzilla report asks for the option to specify, per user, directories or files NOT to be included in the backup.

I thought this would be a useful addition as there can sometimes be quite sizeable directories whose contents don't need to be included in backups yet due to their inclusion the backup process takes noticably longer and uses server resources unnecessarily. The example I used in the report is the directory containing all the necessary Fantastico bits and pieces present in the fantasico admin account (/home/username/fantastico_files), currently around 500MB and 78000 files in size (unless I miscounted) - it would be nice to be able to exclude such dirs.

I'm mentioning it here in case anyone else seems to think that this is also a good idea and would like to vote on it.

Got my vote. I have a major picture gallery that I have backed locally.. no need to store it on the server.

That, and Fantastico...

in Main >> Backup >> Configure Backup scroll to the bottom and there u have "Select Specific Users" just press select and you can untick the users you dont want to back up.

And another way to reduce the system load while doing your backup would be to use "Incremental backup (only backup what has changed. (**No Compression**, not compatible w/ftp backups)"
