Backup File Size Is Small

Not sure what's up, but when I back up MYSQL in cpanel it's a lot smaller than the size of the database.

Example:

Under current database, the DB is listed at 700MB.

Downloading it through the backup cpanel function only gives me a 315 MB .sql.

Is there a setting somewhere that limits the download size? I have root access to the server. Thanks.

Do you notice any output to /usr/local/cpanel/logs/error_log when downloading the database from cPanel?
