I will be upgrading from mysql 4.0.25 to mysql 4.1.

    WHM shows a warning that
"Updating from mysql 4.0 to mysql 4.1 is not automaticlly reversable. You should backup your databases if you think you might wish to downgrade in the future."

I would like to backup all mysql databases on the server before attempting to upgrade to 4.1.

Since, I have always used incremental WHM backup, I need guidance to backup only mysql databases on my server through SSH commands. I have a backup harddisk and am on RHEL.

    Thanks for your help.

mysqldump should work for you. Please checkout various options for mysqldump too.

    mysqldump -u username -p databasename > database.sql

    Hi,

Since I want to backup all the databases; will this command serve my purpose? Will this backup all user/reseller databases?

    mysqldump --all-databases --opt -u root -p > /backup/mysql_DBs/ALL-db_backups.sql

    Thanks for your help.
