My hosted domain cPanel is telling me that cPanel System Backup is not enabled on this machine. When I try to configure backup in WHM, I get a message saying /backup is not a directory and backup has been disabled. Is /backup relative to the root directory or to the cpan directory or ? I created a backup directory in the root directory.

    Thanks.

if backup is in root, you want /root/backup/ with that trailing / like he mentioned ^^^^
its not relative to cpan, its where you put it.

if you have an external NFS server, and want to do backups to that you could mount it right as /backup
