    Hi

Does anyone have a solution to have a user that can log in to the /backup parition and download the content manually by ftp? I just want it as a second backup, and don´t want to set up a ftp server to transfer cpbackup.

You can just use an ftp program that has the option to make a secure connection and log in with the server name and root password, unless root ftp access is turned off.

The 2 most popular ftp programs are:
    SecureFTP - http://www.vandyke.com
    and
    WinSCP - http://winscp.sourceforge.net/eng/about.php

Usually backup is unmounted so you would have to mount it first which would be done either through a shell access program or my WHM mount/unmount script. (see sig below)
