Hi,

How do I backup passwd.vhosts and where is it located.

I am thinking of running this script http://www.spenix.com/ftpbugtempfix.txt to sort out my access log problems as users what access to the access logs via ftp.

Regards,
Garry

Please update to edge build 80. This should add additonal security for ftp log downloads.

Here is a lil help from Phantom to the cPanel community. The Edge version is more stable/less problems (or problems get fixed quicker) than any other version[/quote:234ee90d51]

And I always thought the stable version was supposed to be the stable one. ;)

I've tried the edge 80 update. All user logs are still visible and can be downloaded by any user. :(

You'll have to wait for each log file to get processed (by the stats runner) before it will change the permissions

Ahh, that's why. Eagerly waiting ... so I can chmod 775 domlog . :)

Update on this: Log files in the domlogs directory can be downloaded on any one of these three conditions (edge build 80+):

1. If the domain is active (so its log file has been processed by the stats runner), then the log file can only be downloaded by the user that owns the domain (this is an improvement)

2. If the domain is inactive (so its log file has not been processed by the stats runner hence the group remains as root) it can be downloaded by any user

3. All the username-popbytes_logs and username-bytes_logs can be downloaded by any user

All the files in the domlogs directory are still visible to any user.

I wonder if some kind of sym (or hard) linking from the user's home directory to his log file would be technically viable and cover this from all angles.

Norman

So basicly you saying it has not fix that problem with the domlogs ?

No, not yet. Not as far as I can see it.

The items I have listed have not been fixed as of Edge build 80.
