Whenever my server does its backup there are no end of problems. High load, apache/mysql failing and sometimes the entire server just crashes and has to be rebooted.
I do have some large databases (>7gig) that may be causing this. I have been doing a normal FTP backup to a remote server but maybe because of the size of the database I should be doing an incremental backup to a backup drive within my server?

Does the incremental backup use less load? Does incremental backup do a good backup of the mysql databases?
