The other day I was doing some research on Windows Shadow Copies for backing up system files in Windows that constantly change.

I'm curious, when doing a full WHM Scheduled Backup, mysqldump runs along with gzip and tar. I'm sure that mysqldump uses something like volume shadow copy to copy a changing database without errors. What I'm not sure about is, do the files in each account copy from a snapshot at the beginning of the copy traversal, or do they copy in order, meaning any changes are seen and copied when the traversal gets to the files.

I know this is a bit confusing, but I'm really curious to know.
