SOLVED Backup running twice?

When I look at the cron jobs it shows:

SHELL="/bin/bash" 0 1 * * * /usr/local/cpanel/scripts/cpbackup

SHELL="/bin/bash" 0 2 * * * /usr/local/cpanel/bin/backup
I am running WHM V64 and other questions on this forum say one of those scripts is for the legacy backup (cpbackup) and the other for the newer one (backup). I don't see any reference in WHM for the legacy backup system anymore, so I am wondering are the two scripts still running?

Hi,

Yes, that is right, the first one that says cpbackup is the legacy backup cron and in the new cPanel distributions, this legacy backup has been removed, however, the cron still seems to be appearing, as you may have upgraded your cPanel from older version from time to time. You may not see this if you install a cPanel on a fresh operating system..

Both the script does a primary check of backup configuration is switched on or off and if it is off, then the script does not anything..

Hello,

It's normal to see both cron jobs enabled on the server, even when you are no longer using legacy backups. The existence of the cron job does not indicate both types of backups are enabled, as the legacy backup script will automatically detect if legacy backups are enabled and only generate legacy backups if that's the case.

Thank you.
