Backup Shows Password

    When you configure the WHM backup it shows the password clear as day. If a hacker were to break into the box what would stop him from seeing those login details and deleting everything on the backup server?

    Will cpanel make this more secure?

    I presume you['re talking about FTP backups. It's as secure as its going to be using FTP. The file containing the password should be chmod 600 /etc/cpbackup.conf so only root can read it. You cannot do much more that that since over FTP the password has to be sent in clear-text.
