Hi i am new and i would like some help. I have whm v90.0.15 on centos7

I rent an sftp disk and i would like to send my backups there.
I don't want to keep them to my server.

I added my destination under Additional Destinations and is validated.
But i think that also keeps them on the local disk of my server and i run out of space on my disk.

What i do wrong? Thanks

You could try to uncheck 'Retain Backups in the Default Backup Directory '

Retain backups in the default local backup directory, even after the system transfers the backups to another destination.
If you disable this option, the system will delete the backups after they move to another destination.

In the WHM backup config, take a look at

Backup Staging Directory

You must enter an absolute path. The backup staging directory temporarily stores a remote backup’s files and directories during a backup restoration. The directory empties once the system restores the backup.

The via SFT connect to this folder and delete from within.

Thanks for your reply. At my remote disk, i get the backups. but also i see inside a file which called "backup_incomplete". Entering on it i see only the date of the backup "2020-10-11" . Is this a problem?

I've never seen that myself, but I'd guess it's possibly a failed backup from the weekend.
If you are confident that your most recent backups worked, then personally i'd be inclined not to worry about it.

There could be a number of reasons backup being flagged as "backup_incomplete ". One simple example of this is exporting of a MySQL database was failed during the backup process.

You can know the exact reason by checking the cpanel backup log files found at /usr/local/cpanel/logs/cpbackup of that particular date.
