    Hi

    I have a Dedicated Server.
    My legacy backups are disabled.
My Backups (New Backup) were happening without any problems locally (Retain Backups in default backup directory) and remotely till the 25th June 2015.
Now Every day I am getting 2 mails reporting Backups failed.
When I check the backup folder, there is no daily backup after 25th June 2015.

    Content of 1st Mail

The backup failed to complete for the following reason:
The system could not complete the backup because legacy and current backup processes may not run concurrently, and the first backup process has not finished.
This notice is the result of a request from “cPanel Backup System”.
This notice was generated on “Tuesday, June 30, 2015” at “12:30:01 AM UTC”.
Content of 2nd Mail (The Mail has an emty attachment .txt file.
Please review the attached log for further details.

Any idea what could be happening and how can I resolve this.

    Regards
    Amit Kalra.

    Hi Amit,

Did you try to run the backup manually ? If yes, what errors you got on screen ?

    Hi
In the root Cron job file I see the following for backups
    #Backup scripts
    0 1 * * * /usr/local/cpanel/scripts/cpbackup
    0 2 * * * /usr/local/cpanel/bin/backup

The first one (/usr/local/cpanel/scripts/cpbackup) is the script for the legacy backup.
The second one (/usr/local/cpanel/bin/backup) seems to be the script for the new backup.

When I ran the first legacy backup (/usr/local/cpanel/scripts/cpbackup) it just reported Legacy backups disabled.

After that I ran the new backup (/usr/local/cpanel/bin/backup) and it completed the local and remote backup.

What could be the reason for it reporting an error and not running through the root cron ?

Okay somehow the backups are running now. I didnt do anything except run it manually once.
I am not getting notifications though.
I change the priority to high from low in notifications.
My email notification threshold was set to high, and backup notifications to low.
I hope that will start the backup complete notifications.

    Update.
After changing the notification priority to all backup events to high, I am getting backup complete notifications.
The backups are happening properly now.
