My backup setting is set to "Per Account and Entire MySQL Directory" and I just extracted a backup. But the only file in /mysql is openfileslimit. WHM 66.0.23. I am using MariaDB, but didn't think that would cause this issue. Any ideas?

Hello,

Do you notice any error messages for this account in the most recent backup log within the /usr/local/cpanel/logs/cpbackup/ directory?

Thank you.

Yep:
[2017-10-03 02:09:25 -0400] The “Mysql” failed with an error: Invalid MySQL version: “” at /usr/local/cpanel/Cpanel/MysqlUtils/Version.pm line 40.

How to resolve?

Hello,

Can you let us know the contents of the /etc/my.cnf file on this system? Also, please post the output from the following commands:

Code:
mysql -V
grep mysql-version /var/cpanel/cpanel.config
rpm -qa|grep MySQL
rpm -qa|grep MariaDB
Thank you.
