I created a backup cron job via the WHM gui... Backup/Backup-Configuration. In the Scheduling and Retention box I checked off "Backup Daily", and the I checked-off each of the 7 days (Sunday through Saturday). Finally I said to "Retain 15 Daily backups".

This process worked fine during the first 15 days. When it got to day 16 however, the process was over... no further backups were generated. I had assumed incorrectly that this "Retain 15 Daily backups" meant that on day 16, day 1 would be rolled-off/deleted, and I'd then still have 15 daily backups, days 2 through 16. The next day, hopefully I'd again have a total of 15 daily backups... days 3 through 17.

So instead, after these first 15 backups, the backup process simply stopped.

This isn't the behavior I was expecting nor that I desire. Is it possible to use the WHM backup gui screens to get the behavior I'm expecting here? If so... what's the secret?

Have you verified no new backup directories with the current date are created after forcing a generation of backups via the "/usr/local/cpanel/bin/backup --force" command?

    Thank you.
