Thanks Michael, not the answer I wanted but good to know that you can't reproduce it - something must have changed since last year's threads about duplicates. I wondered if the time that the message counts as delivered has changed?

The bcc thing is tricky. Sometimes it appears in a header for line but otherwise it only appears in the envelope to header but that is added I think after the message is delivered. You had commented on this before in this thread

    Filtering "Envelope-to:" header problem

I occasionally look at the thread to see if gets updated alas no.

Apparently Exim can be re-compiled to give different behaviour but that is not a way I would want to go.

Pipe to program seems the only option left but sadly that is beyond me, last programming I did was fortran, algol and basic!

This behavior is by design with Exim because the recipient in the bcc field is removed from the message header during the SMTP transaction. Otherwise, if the header were not removed, it would become a "CC" address instead of a "BCC" address.

    Thank you.
