Hi i have just had a dedicated server setup and cPanel installed about a month ago.
I have no real experience in server security or being an server administrator I was wondering if i could get any help with site security as there is a script being used or something to try and exhaust my bandwidth.

    Last months bandwidth 206.66 GB
    This month already 2295.39 GB

and on 10th November alone 1007.70 GB

I think i know who the person is who is doing this and have had his ip and name in the failed login attempts
please could anyone advice or help me with this issue i could use all the help i could get thanks.

You should hire a professional to secure your server for you if you're unsure on what to do there. There are good SysAdmin listings located here you might be interested in:
Sys Admin Services | cPanel App Catalog

If this is a particular account, you should look closer at it and see whats going on. Why is an account able to eat up so much bandwidth? You should have limits on the accounts.

If you're using mod_userdir tweak, you might want to disable that.
Home » Security Center » Apache mod_userdir Tweak

Yes, and make sure all others below, are unchecked.

Any users using it will instantly be in touch with you. ;)

They should be using their own domain names.
