    In WHM's Apache Build/Upgrade, you can select what modules you want in an Apache build. Most are PHP modules, but a number refer to Apache or even other things such as FrontPage support.

    The WHM documentation that I have seen provides no documentation on individual modules. I have looked on the Apache.org and PHP.net but have so far found nothing relevant

    Where can I find further details on each of these modules and whether they are safe or beneficial to install and other pertinent data?

    Cpanel.net will not provide you the documentation for those modules and whether they are safe to install or not. As you say if they are not in Apache.org and PHP.net, its better to search in Google.com rather posting here as no one here will provide you the details of each module.
    Please don't think I am rude, thats just a suggestion. :)

    Thanks Shekhar.

    I have googled this issue quite a bit this evening and have not been very successful. Any suggestions for good keywords to try.

    There is a conf file for build apache at:

    /var/cpanel/buildapache.config.pl - also elsewhere

    It lists all these weird things, small example:

    $SETMODULE{'reportcpanel'} = 1;
    $SETMODULE{'rewrite'} = 1;
    $SETMODULE{'softbuild'} = 1;
    $SETMODULE{'ssl'} = 1;
    $SETMODULE{'suexec'} = 1;

    $SETMODULE{'php-mbstring'} = 0;
    $SETMODULE{'php-mcrypt'} = 0;
    $SETMODULE{'php-memlimit'} = 0;
    $SETMODULE{'php-mhash'} = 0;
    $SETMODULE{'php-ming'} = 0;
    $SETMODULE{'php-mm'} = 0;
    $SETMODULE{'php-net-snmp'} = 0;

    None of these directly relate to anything in httpd.conf or to php.ini.

    So these must be intermediate files that cpanel uses to build apache. What are these modules and where are they - so I can find out what they do...
