    Hello Experts,

I'm wondering what the best way is to set up a SSL cert for my customer's webmail usage.

I've read most of the posts here via search but am a little confused. One post said not to use the server's hostname, another suggested that be used. Hmmmm.. not sure which it is.

Basically, I'd like my customers to be able to access https://customerdomain.com/webmail (most of the customers are on a shared IP). Is this possible? Would it require something like a wild SSL?

Or should I instead go with the server's hostname? https://hostname.myserver.com?

Or perhaps I should go with an entirely different domain? https://secure.mywebmail.com ???

I'm quite confused. One thing for sure, I don't want to continue to use the built-in SSL cert as when my customers do a "View Certificate", they see the datacenter's domain and I'd prefer that remain anonymous.

    Your help greatly appreciated!

Are you on your own box or hosting off a shared box?

You will need to purchase a certificate for whichever domain name you decide.

The best would be https://hostname.myserver.com since you only need one SSL Cert for that.

If you already have an SSL Cert for your main domain then you can let them log in via your main domain.

I would get cert for hostname then go to tweak setting and check these two

Always redirect users to the ssl/tls ports when visiting /cpanel, /webmail, etc.
When visiting /cpanel or /whm or /webmail with ssl redirect to the servers hostname.

Is that the same in a VPS?
