    Hello all,
    i am running CENTOS 5.5 x86_64 standard in my dedicated server.
    Server configuration is;

    INTEL CORE I7 950 3.06GHZ 4.8GT/S 8MB 64BI
    GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD3R DDR3 2000 S+GL SATA 16X
    OCZ 6GB DR3 1600MHz GOLD.CL8 TRIPLE (4 X 2GB)

    Web server: litespeed
    Control Panel: cpanel
    Mysql version:5.0.91
    Internet connection: 100mbit/s

    in this server there is just one website and this is running for the advertisement. I am an advertisement company and with a script i am publishing advertisement for the company. I have around 600 publisher and they are creating code from my site and add to the website. Using this codes visitor can see the advertisement from my database and images, swf and text.

    We can think about Google AdWords and Adsense.

    So because of this i have very big traffic and request. Everyday i have to reboot the system and it is really dangerous.

    a) If the server does not reboot more than 1 day
    1- Advertisement impression graphic is increasing more. But publisher and ads places is the same.
    2- If the impression is increasing totally clicked also has to increase. But it is decreasing. So I think it is looking that ads showing in the system but visitor cannot see the ads because of this clicking is going to be less
    3- Ram usage is increasing
    4- Cpu usage is increasing
    5- Internet usage is increasing and spending a lot traffic more then enough.
    6- sql request are increasing

    b) After the reboot

    1-I have a panel from the datacenter, I can see as a graphic how internet using by server. This graphic is decreasing so much, also decreasing internet usage traffic.

    2-In our web site impression graphic is decreasing.
    3- Clicking is going to be average value as always.
    4-usage cpu 1,5 (8 cpus)
    5-usage ram decreasing to the % 3.5

    I am searching from the every website and every administration but there is no any good solution. Becouse of this i want to ask your opinion.

    Thank You

    sounds like you have a mis configuration somewhere, As litespeed if anything will handle that extremely easily as its not mysql driven websites just static links.

    You need to mention more on whats happening,

    whats your current connections to apache when the server decides to play up ?

    As per usual, we need logs and various information in order to analyze your usage. Run the following commands and give us the output of each:

    ps -eo pcpu,mem,pid,user,args | sort -k 1 -r | head -10

    top -b -i -n 5 >> ./top_procs

    free -m

    tail -50 /var/log/messages

    And your litespeed configuration file

    Once we have that info it'll give us a bit more to go on.

    Enable suEXCE in litespeed.

    WHM > Plugs > Litespeed > admin loging > Configuration > General > Enable suEXCE [yes] Then restart litespeed.

    Then this way you can see where it's coming from.

    i think about that is related with the mysql becouse there are alot traffic for the mysql. And i read in the server there is my.cnf file and has all the mysql configurations.

    Do you think have to focus to the usage to the mysql ?

    Your MySQL is definitely using a lot of CPU. I'm sure the memory usage is high too.

    Do the following:

    wget mysqltuner.pl
    chmod 755 mysqltuner.pl
    ./mysqltuner.pl

    Run that and then it will give you a full report when it's finished. Go ahead and paste the entire report here, including the MySQL version at the very top, and we'll take a look.

    -------- Recommendations -----------------------------------------------------
    General recommendations:
    Add skip-innodb to MySQL configuration to disable InnoDB
    Run OPTIMIZE TABLE to defragment tables for better performance
    MySQL started within last 24 hours - recommendations may be inaccurate
    Adjust your join queries to always utilize indexes
    When making adjustments, make tmp_table_size/max_heap_table_size equal
    Reduce your SELECT DISTINCT queries without LIMIT clauses
    Optimize queries and/or use InnoDB to reduce lock wait
    Variables to adjust:
    query_cache_limit (> 1M, or use smaller result sets)
    join_buffer_size (> 128.0K, or always use indexes with joins)
    tmp_table_size (> 32M)
    max_heap_table_size (> 16M)

    Also i had a report for my developer when the server was working veryhard and after the reboot aproximatly 20 hours report belowing

    Start off with the general recommendations, run it for 24 hours and then adjust accordingly. The thing about tweaking MySQL is that you need to keep it running for a while so you can get an accurate reading on it.

    So, start with this in /etc/my.cnf:

    [mysqld]
    skip-innodb
    query_cache_limit = 1M
    join_buffer_size = 128K
    tmp_table_size = 32M
    max_heap_table_size = 32M

    The important part is to adjust in small increments. Don't just raise the join_buffer_size up to like 500M or something. Put in the initial values, see how it performs, and then run it again. If you can't keep the server up for 24 hours, then just try doing it after 8 - 12 hours. It's not as good, obviously, but it'll give you a fairly accurate reading and you can adjust from there.

    I'm not going to lie, it probably won't. MySQL takes some time to adjust properly. It should help a bit, though. The ultimate goal is to reduce the CPU usage of your MySQL, and optimize the memory usage while caching queries so that less stress is being put on your system without going overboard and running out of memory (OOM) because MySQL ate up all the free memory on the system.

    It takes a bit of trial and error sometimes.

    But, yeah, report back let us know.

    @RCraft first of all Thank you very much for your opinion.

    I think it start to work more with high performance at the first day.

    500.000 advertisement shown more and click is the normal value.I hope it will be fine in the next days. I am checking all day the server and i will let you know how is the process.

    After you i checked the free memory and it is not using alot and i chance the value a little bit.

    skip-innodb
    query_cache_limit = 16M
    join_buffer_size = 2M
    tmp_table_size = 32M
    max_heap_table_size = 32M

    Glad to hear it. Keep at it about once a day - just run mysqltuner and then when you get a comfortable value setup you can sit back a bit and not worry about it too much. I'd just do once a week after you've got it stable.

    Also, you might want to repair/optimize your databases too in order to make them more efficient.

    you are talking about my dream :)

    and about database repair/optimization i am doing so often.

    Thank you again.

    Hello again,

    After 2 days i was checking the free -m command to learn how is the free memory i saw there is 200mb . Total ram is 8 Gb and after the setting everyday was going to more less than previous day.

    So thats mean soething is stay which is not necessery and keeping the memory space. Becouse of this 23 hours ago i reboot again the server.

    do you have any opinion what it can be that is keeping the memory spaces.

    Thank You.
