I have this same issue, and the server didn't installed MySQL between other stuff.

By running mysqlup --force it shows me this error:

And if I try to install the missing perl modules, the script fails with the message

make: Warning: File `Makefile.PL' has modification time 2e+04 s in the future

What does 'date' return on your server ? Also, you can try installing the module manually and running touch Makefile.PL prior to proceeding with the install.

The date is configured properly, I've even installed NTP to check that out.

    Code:
    root@cp13 [~]# date --utc
    Mon Jun 6 21:39:37 UTC 2011
I don't know which modules to install, the script checkperlmodules and mysqlup are the ones that fail.

BTW: I've opened a ticket for this issue #1588513

Please post the results for this command:

    Code:
    awk '/VERSION_/{print FILENAME": "NR": "$0}' /usr/local/cpanel/scripts/updatenow.static
If there are no results, then updatenow.static is corrupted and would need to be grabbed from another machine:

    Code:
    mv /usr/local/cpanel/scripts/updatenow.static /usr/local/cpanel/scripts/updatenow.static.bak110725
    cd /root
    wget http://httpupdate.cpanel.net/cpanelsync/11.30.0.32/cpanel/scripts/updatenow.static.bz2
    bunzip2 updatenow.static.bz2
    cp -pv /root/updatenow.static /usr/local/cpanel/scripts/updatenow.static
    chmod 755 /usr/local/cpanel/scripts/updatenow.static
After getting a sound copy at that location, recheck it shows a version:

    Code:
    awk '/VERSION_/{print FILENAME": "NR": "$0}' /usr/local/cpanel/scripts/updatenow.static
If it does, then resync the files:

    Code:
    /usr/local/cpanel/scripts/updatenow.static --sync
    Finally, update cPanel again:

    Code:
    /scripts/upcp --force
