I have just started getting this message

named[4712]: dispatch 0x9f55998: shutting down due to TCP receive error: connection reset

In my error logs, its been happening for about 8 hours now about 8 per hour.

This server has been up for years and I have never seen that.

I googled this pretty heavily, and no one seems to think it is a big deal.

I wanted a second opinion from you guys though.

    Thanks in advance.

I'll chime in that it is also happening. For me, it started yesterday at just before 11AM. Our updates run around 3AM, so I'm not sure what is triggering this so late in the morning. It has been happening 6 times in every hourly report though since 11AM yesterday.

    Go on, have a guess
I would imagine it's coming to light now after the RedHat updates to bind recently. I too am seeing them and according to the information I have found, they're harmless - I wonder if bind simply wasn't logging them as an issue before the recent update.
