    hi all

Jul 3 00:48:30 server named: named shutdown failed Jul 3 00:48:31 server named: named startup succeeded Jul 3 00:48:31 server named[29111]: starting BIND 9.2.2 -u named Jul 3 00:48:31 server named[29111]: using 2 CPUs Jul 3 00:48:31 server named[29117]: loading configuration from '/etc/named.conf' Jul 3 00:48:31 server named[29117]: /etc/named.conf:775: zone 'xczcxz.4ursite.co.uk': already exists Jul 3 00:48:31 server named[29117]: loading configuration: failure Jul 3 00:48:31 server named[29117]: exiting (due to fatal error)

treid restarting server (on a vps) but still no luck.

    Go on, have a guess
Looks like you have a duplicate zone line in /etc/named.conf:
You should edit the file, search for that domain and remove one of the entries, then try restarting named.

    cPanel Access Level:
    Root Administrator
ssh into the server as a user

    then type su -
and it should ask you for the root password

then edit the /etc/named.conf using your favorite editor

    i prefer vi

    as in

    vi /etc/named.conf

look for that line as you will have a duplicate

    delete one of them

    restart bind
