Try reinstalling Exim, as that is usaully the culprit, and lots of peoples (even mine) has broke in the last week. Login to your server, then "su -" run /scripts/exim4

That should reinstall. Let me know how that works out.

Hi,

It starting to look like everytime UPCP runs at night it breaks.
The main reason I think it a bind issue is by restarting it, it works fine.

It seem to be since the update on the 3rd of Oct 2003 to 8.4.0-R91

Garry

Either Bind or Exim does as it will not allow email to be receive from server 2, but by restarting bind on server 1 it start receiving again as normal

Ok, so I am also assuming then that you have ran the appropriate scripts related to dns, such as update, fixndc, fixnamed and all that good stuff, done a reinstall of bind as well as bind tools and any other potentially helpfull dns rpm, and have reinstalled exim (as you said you already have).

/scripts/mailperm

That command fixes this error. It re-adds the domain to the localdomains file.

Hi,

Thank you, but I have tryed that, it seem to be a server wide issue more then anything, I know it affect 2 domains, maybe more.

Well you sir, have a very odd problem...hehe.

I had JUST experienced this error 10 minutes ago which is why I am telling you that /scripts/mailperm fixes this problem.

I dont have any other suggestions, maybe your only fix would be contacting cpanel support and explaining your problem.

You can go into whm, and under software, select install rpm. Select Bind on the list, and check the force install button. Install any other bind related utility that you think you may need.

I can almost bet that you had:

550-permitted to relay through this server. Perhaps you have not logged into
550-the pop/imap server in the last 30 minutes or do not have SMTP
550 Authentication turned on in your email client.

Which is different from:

SMTP error from remote mailer after RCPT TO:<[email protected]>:
host whatever.com [66.246.42.xxx]: 451 Temporary local problem - please try later: retry timeout exceeded

The latter being the issue discussed.

/scripts/mailperm doesnt fix this one. I have had both of these issues. /scripts/mailperm did the job on the 550 error fine. (run /scripts/updatenow, then /scripts/mailperm for the 550 error)

Are you the owner of the two servers?

Then look at your DNS records on both servers.

WHM> delete a DNS zone.

Look for double zones.

example you have one server X with domain A.
You have moved domain A to another server Y.
Then you deleted domain A on server X.
This is the problem because most likely a DNS zone of domain A stils is there on server X.

You want to send mail with domain A on server Y to server X.

Guess conffusion because Domain A is still present on server X.

This is what solved the problem for me.
