Bind Failed - Won't Restart

Bind failed on my server and it won't restart. Here is the error:

Starting named: named: user 'named' unknown



Have tried:

ran /scripts/fixnamed and also /scripts/rebuild_namedconf but that had no effect either.

Can anyone help?

I'm having the same problem.. not sure what the cause of the problem is. Could be because of the latest backend script updates??

Need to fix this problem ASAP.

Does the user named exist in /etc/passwd and /etc/shadow? If not, you'll need to recreate them or check your backups for the entries (the cPanel full backup files subdirectory has a copy).

Sounds like the user is missing from shadow/passwd files

Sound look something like this

named:x:25:25:Named:/var/named:/bin/false

named:!!:11592:0:99999:7:::
