I had my datacenter install cPanel/WHM 10.0.0.R11 on a fresh FreeBSD 5.3 server.
Bind will not run and produces this error on restarting:
I made an new (empty) file var/named/named.root. On restarting bind:
Adding those missing files produces this on restarting bind:
Can anyone please help with this problem? I've never struck anything like thisbefore. I'm getting desperate now as the server was meant to be running hours ago.

I had the exact same problem/errors last week with a new 5.3 install. I opened a ticket with Cpanel and Kyle got it fixed and working properly.

Make a backup of your named.conf file, then use the Perform a DNS cleanup in WHM and it will remove all the IP v6 stuff from the named.conf file.

Thanks for the replies. My host came to the party and fixed it. Apparently some files were in the wrong place and as easyhoster1 wrote, some lines in named.conf were causing problems.
