About a week ago, I started getting the following statscheck message:
----------------------------------------------------------
IMPORTANT: Do not ignore this email.
This is cPanel stats runner on host9.myserver.com!
While processing the log files for user root, the cpu has been
maxed out for more then a 6 hour period. The current load/uptime line on the server at the time of this email is
12:45am up 36 days, 23:59, 0 users, load average: 1.50, 0.34, 0.10
You should check the server to see why the load is so high and take steps to lower the load. If you want stats to continue to run even with a high load; Edit
/var/cpanel/cpanel.config and change extracpus to a number larger then 0 (run /usr/local/cpanel/startup afterwards to pickup the changes).
----------------------------------------------------------
Why do I say it is bizarre?!? Well, first of all, why is it running stats for user 'root'? I don't see where anything has that user configured. Secondly, the load average only jumps to 1+ when it tries running the stats for that user. Lastly, I get this message mutliple times a day, yet stats should only be running once a day (overnight actually). Everything about this message seems bizarre.
Anyone have any insight? I'm really getting tired of being woken up EVERY night because of this (not to mention alerted throughout the day). I immediately check the load average on the server and it is either at 0.00 or under 0.30 EVERY time. It is only occurring on one particular server.
