    Hi,

    Almost all of my servers have been blacklisted by some obscure blacklist called Back scatter dot org (which fortunately is not being used that much globally).
    What settings would you advise in WHM / exim to make sure the servers stay off after the four weeks(!) free waiting period?

    Thanks.

    Hello,

    >> Make sure there is no spamming in the server.
    >> Set Rdns for the mail server IP
    >> Set SPF & Domain Keys for all the accounts in the server.

    @LinuxTechie:

    Those issues have already been dealt with. Please note this is not a normal/regular blacklist.
    To avoid exposure to this web site as I think one should not pay to get delisted ("maffia practics" come to mind) or wait four(!) entire weeks to get automatically delsted : www dot ba ck sca tter dot org.

    Hello,

    Is the IP blacklisted in anyother Blacklists? You can check it from the site iptools.com . If not you don't have to worry about this.
    I do not thinks blackscatter can create mail issues.

    @LinuxTechie :

    Nope. The IP-addresses are not blacklisted in any other blacklist (used mxtoolbox.com to check).
    The exim log does show some blockage due to the server being on that blacklist though.

    You might want to do a quick search on these forums for the term Backscatter as there have been other threads posted on this topic.

    The only config setting I could find on the forums about this, is :

    Code:
    WHM -> Service Configuration -> Exim Configuration Editor -> Mail
    Disable "Sender Verification Callouts"

    This however is by default "off" when "Add sender rates to the mail log" is set to "on".

    Code:
    WHM -> Service Configuration -> Exim Configuration Editor -> Mail
    Sender Verification

    This setting was "off" on all of my servers while cPanel's default is "on". I've changed this and see if that makes any difference to get the servers of the blacklist.
