    I got a black page after update from 10.x to last 11.X E version
    in the error log i got that error message

    (internal death while parsing ./frontend/x3/index.html) Sat Jan 5 05:41:49 2008 [15013] error: not a reference at /usr/local/cpanel/Cpanel.pm line 337

    Perl version is: This is perl, v5.8.8 built for i686-linux

    i tried
    /scripts/upcp --force
    /usr/local/cpanel/bin/checkperlmodules

    but that did not fix the problem.
    Any ideas what can be wrong and how i can fix that ?

    Am I reading the message correctly - that 11 E is EDGE? If you are on EDGE, I'd recommend moving to a production worthy build (CURRENT or higher) as you will likely encounter fewer errors there. Once you get running there, then you can move to EDGE.

    Also running /scripts/upcp --force and /scripts/checkperlmodules couldn't hurt if this error persists.

    This is occurring because cpanel is loading modules that are built on perl 5.6.2.

    Carp::croak('not a reference') called at /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.6.2/i686-linux/Storable.pm line 76
    Storable::logcroak('not a reference') called at /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.6.2/i686-linux/Storable.pm line 297

    Make sure you have perl 5.8.8 installed and run the commands below to clean up old versions of perl modules and reinstall perl 5.8.8 along with all needed modules and the problem should be resolved.

    Code:
    rm -rf /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.*.[0-7]
    wget http://layer1.cpanel.net/perl588installer.tar.gz
    tar xvzf perl588installer.tar.gz
    cd perl588*
    ./install
    /usr/local/cpanel/bin/checkperlmodules
