block an IP

    I think I remember somewhere that it is possible to disallow access to he entire site from particular IP addresses. I know about the hotlink protection, but I need to block all access from an IP.

    So in /etc/ I create a file named hosts.deny and list the ip addresses that are banned with a semicolon seperating them?
    Also, can I use wildcards?

    Connect to your server via SSH then type

    info hosts.deny

    then read everything you need including how to set the wildcards
