    I am already missing Boxtrapper. I really hope that it is a priority to bring this back and fast. I have clients that really like it and are complaining. It was working fine on our server.

    I know it was placed in the edge releases but we dont subscribe to those only the stable ones. please get Boxtrapper back in the stable releases very soon.

    I have built a service around boxtrapper. I can't be without it.

    beta...

    Sounds like cpanel is using "Pro" as just a testing grounds...once it's considered stable, they put it in the edge build and remove it from pro...so then we have to wait til it comes down the pipe to a CURRENT or STABLE build. :(

    True, they said pro was beta, but this shennanigan(sp?) is a little nasty, especially for those who have grown accustomed to the functionality. A little warning that this was going to happen would have been nice.

    given the lag time between "edge" and current/stable, it would have made more sense to leave the current configuration of PRO associated with the current/stable release alone until the edge features that were removed from pro were current/stable.

    but, from the response to my trouble ticket, they feel that marking something as "beta" means that we should have had no reason to be upset.

    We are in the STABLE freeze cycle right now so a new STABLE should be out shortly.

    Getting STABLE out ASAP is our #1 priority right now.

    So does that mean that Box Trapper will be in the next stable release that is your number 1 priority?

    Its been in the pro for many months does that mean that since it is out of pro then its next in stable release? If not why take it out of pro?

    How can I roll back my cpanel version to the version that had Box trapper in it. We were not experiencing issues? I cant seem to find any posts where people were having issues except one.

    What is the ETA of the Box Trapper being back available other than in the edge releases?

    Hopefully we will get it back.

    And since we are on the subject of Boxtrapper anyway to trap the messages but not send out a verification email?

    Reason for is one of my main email addresses is becoming pure spam but I can't delete it as there are some important messages still coming through. I don't like sending verifications back to the spammers, which is kind of like saying "I'm here and keep sending."

    REAL SPAMmer will never reply - and they already know you got the email - so no harm no foul. Of course there are plent of other ways to block spam - from Chirpy's Mailscanner combo - to DNSRBL's.

    We maintain 6 cPanel servers. All have the same cPanel versions and config. Boxtrapper is gone from all accounts on one of these servers.

    Any way to fix this? I have already tried the following:

    /scripts/updatenow
    /scripts/exim4
    /scripts/upcp

    Is there a definitive Boxtrapper user guide for the non-geek?

    >24 hours and not CURRENT.

    However.. I would make the recommendation that when REMOVING items from 'current' releases (wether in beta or now), you wait until their counterpart is ready.

    it wouldn't have been difficult to tie the 'removal form pro' along with the 'release to current' which would have avoided much heartache for customers as well as everyone at cpanel who was inundated with 'why's it gone' messages.

    CURRENT was built hours ago..

    It was removed because it was no longer compatible with older versions.

    well, boxtrapper's back, but no messages get delivered due to the following error:

    Message 1DvWwq-00083I-Al is not frozen
    delivering 1DvWwq-00083I-Al
    /usr/sbin/exim: symbol lookup error: /usr/sbin/exim: undefined symbol: Perl_Gthr_key_ptr

    I'm not sure if this is some new problem related to an exim config, or if it's related to the boxtrapper code in exim.pl.local

    Looks like the system's libperl.so has been changed.

    What os cpu do you have?

    uname -a

    cat /etc/redhat-release if its redhat based

    ldd /usr/sbin/exim

    perl is in the exclude list in /etc/yum.conf so it should only get whatever perl cpanel loads.

    There is your problem.
    libperl.so => /usr/local/lib/libperl.so (0x004dd000)

    cPanel never installs libperl in /usr/local/lib, did you install your own version of perl, or install something that does?
    Make sure /usr/bin/perl is not linked against /usr/local/lib/libperl.so. (run ldd on /usr/bin/perl) If you are comfortable that nothing is using this copy of libperl.so removing and reinstall exim by running /scripts/eximup --force should correct the problem?

    I hate using the thread for tech support but here goes:P :
    # ldd /usr/bin/perl
    libnsl.so.1 => /lib/libnsl.so.1 (0x00ae7000)
    libdl.so.2 => /lib/libdl.so.2 (0x008d1000)
    libm.so.6 => /lib/tls/libm.so.6 (0x008ac000)
    libcrypt.so.1 => /lib/libcrypt.so.1 (0x00906000)
    libutil.so.1 => /lib/libutil.so.1 (0x00b3e000)
    libc.so.6 => /lib/tls/libc.so.6 (0x00780000)
    /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0x00766000)

    I removed the offending file, and did a --force .. that fixed it, but now I'm remembering why the libs were there.
    there's used to be a problem with running perl under jailshell, but that seems to be fixed now.

    thanks for helping
