Box trapper creating email loop?

Hi,

I have a client that has started using the BoxTrapper function in CPanel and whilst is it effective for him, he has noticed that when a spammer sends an email from a fake address and the Box trapper tries to send them a confirmation email, it continues to try to send and bounce back creating an email loop!

I figure this must be a common problem for people and tried to search for an answer but could not find it straight away?

Any idea on how to stop this would be great.

Box Trapper does have “loop protection” to prevent this from happening. However, it may not come under older versions of cPanel/WHM. You can try after upgrade to the latest version of cPanel/WHM.

Hey, that sounds great!!!

Can you tell me where it is? We have the latest versions, we just set up a fresh install a few weeks ago :)

I am sorry. I have tried to search for this option but could not find. May be it is no more there. Most of the people disable Box Trapper permanently from WHM -> Tweak Settings due to this loop issue.

We are having some very serious BoxTrapper loop problems, exactly as described by the original post in the thread.

Currently running - WHM 11.32.2 (build 25)

According to the release notes found here:
CPanelVersion1130 < AllDocumentation/ChangeLog < TWiki

This was supposed to have been fixed, (quite a number of versions ago):

Implemented case 41357: Modularize Email Loop Protection and Optimize BoxTrapper

I hope this can be resolved as the issue will run up the CPU greatly if not caught in time.

I hope not to see responses like, "Disconnect Boxtrapper." And such stuff about being blacklisted if you use it. I am aware of the backscatter issues. We just need to get this fixed.
