    Hi there,

I have an account with 2ip.com. I asked them some questions about BoxTrapper but they have no clue as to how it works. So I have come here for some help.

I am a little confused at one thing. I have used bluebottle.com, which is the same concept as BoxTrapper, but their services lately have been more down than up. So I looked into BoxTrapper and thus took an account with 2ip.com

Now, when someone sends me an email at my bluebottle account the email sits in a Pending folder and I can check that weekly. Is there such thing with BoxTrapper? Because if not then what happens if a new user using bluebottle, or an BoxTrapper account, or an inbox.com account sends me an email and I don't have them in my white list? The email will sit there in an endless loop, no?

This is the ONLY issue I have with BoxTrapper. I haven't started using it yet because of this issue. If someone can reassure me there is a way around this then I am ready to roll.

    Thanks.

If the user/automated tool that sent you a message to a boxtrapper protected email address does not reply to the Boxtrapper auto-response, they are never whitelisted and their message is never delivered.

There is no "pending" folder to look at.

    Wow. Scary.

So, this means that if I use an email account with BoxTrapper that every time I share my email address I have to ask Bill, Bob, Larry, Mary, etc, if they use an email with a challenge-response. Because that means I have to add their email address in manually to my white list; otherwise I will NEVER hear from them! I was wondering why some websites were warning against challenge-response systems as being inferior, as bluebottle and inbox work so slick. Now I understand.

Is there no way you can do some more programming and remove the 1 flaw from your system?! It would be perfect then. Just a thought.

Of course there is! This is the prime functionality of BoxTrapper, although it's not actually called that, it's the BoxTrapper Queue. That's where challenged emails remain until they get too old (not 100% positive about that, actually, they might just linger forever), or until you act on them manually.
