I would like to know what the best settings in BoxTrapper to make sure that ALL email will get to my inbox except for email address that are specifically added to the Black List. I do not want BoxTrapper to send email back to the address to ask them to very that it is not an automated email, just want it passed to inbox

I would appreciate your help.

Hello :)

It's likely a better idea to setup an account level filter if you only want to block specific email addresses, and prefer not to have verification emails sent out. You can find information on account level filters at:

cPanel - Account Level Filtering

Thank you.

Thanks, I am familiar with the filtering but that would require that I manually enter each email address and the set the response for each email which is too labor intensive for me.

My current is to use BoxTrapper so I can copy and paste into the blocked email list but set the spam assassis level to 1000 so that nothing would be blocked. I would like your thought on this method.

You have two other threads open with a similar question at the moment. It's answered on:

Format for Boxtrapper blocking

Thank you.

While the posting that you referred me to answers a question, I would like your comments on the use of BoxTrapper to block but use SpamAssassin at a very high number. Is that a good solution, do you see any issues with it or do you see a better solution?

SpamAssassin with a configured spam score that is higher than normal will block less SPAM. I don't see any problems with this if you plan to use BoxTrapper at the same time. However, note that some spammers may spoof their email address, so BoxTrapper may send verification emails to addresses that do not exist or belong to legitimate mail users.

Thank you.

I understand your point but if I set BoxTrapper at 1000 I would think that nothing will ever get into the BoxTrapper Queue, do you agree with that?

What setting are you configuring to "1000"?

Thank you.

In BoxTrapper configuration there is a setting "Minimum SpamAssassin Spam Score required to bypass BoxTrapper" and I think a setting of 1000 would result in BoxTrapper never putting anything in the Queue but would block email in the blacklist

Further information

It looks like I was wrong because I have email that was in the queue and I do not understand why it was sent for email verification per the BoxTrapper Log. Below is the information from the header of the email and would appreciate your advice.

When BoxTrapper receives an email with a spam score lower than the value set in the Minimum SpamAssassin Spam Score required to bypass BoxTrapper option, it automatically delivers the message. Increasing this value would make it easier to bypass BoxTrapper.

Thank you.

I am sorry but I do not understand. I already have the minimum set at 1000. In the email above that I posted the heading I don't see an actual spam number other than spam No. The below email was also caught in the BoxTrapper queue but yet has a very low spam score. So I need more help in understanding why these emails are caught in the queue since I would think they should have passed right through.

Do you have root access to this system? If not, please consult with your hosting provider so they can review the Exim logs and determine why the message was placed in the BoxTrapper queue. It's possible there is a third-party application installed, or a specific setting configured by your web hosting provider.

Thank you.

Try unsubscribing and subscribing again to this thread using the "Thread Tools" option. Also, check your SPAM folder if it exists in your email client/webmail to ensure the update was not placed there.
