Hi all,

I may just be being silly (I hope I'm not! No, wait! I hope I am!) but I can't brand Paper Lantern at all.

Is there yet a way to brand this new theme? Perhaps editing the raw code itself?

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

To be honest, the main thing I would like to see (at least at first!) is being able to incorporate my company logo as I can in x3. There are many ideas I have however, most of them probably not possible at this moment in time with it being in such early release stages.

Dream big, dude/tte. We want to hear even the craziest ideas!
It's "dude". The names Peter or Pete, nice to meet you. Haha.

I'll compile a list of all the ideas I have for Paper Lantern and forward them to you if you like? A few of my employees even wrote down some ideas on the community whiteboard in the office! Haha!

The most important thing is that it is *easy* to brand.

For example, have a look at the rvskin system. I hate their skins because they often don't work properly, but they do a few things really well. One of them is branding. The admin logs into the rvskin manager, and specifies the values for a very simple set of configuration settings.

Company Name: _______________
Company URL: _______________
Click here to upload your logo: [upload]
Show cpanel help links? [y/n]
URL to KB: _____________

Etc..

This works very well, and allows resellers and server owner to completely brand the cpanel in less than 2 minutes. The customer likes it because now there are simple and quick links to tutorial videos (if specified), documentation, helpdesk system, billing system, etc.

Honestly, this stuff is so basic that I'm really surprised the paper_lantern theme wasn't released with ability to easily rebrand it already built-in. :(

Hi,
The main branding options i would expecting is:
Branding Logo
Customize help links
Add/remove icons
easy customizing of css styles
A possible way to add new html blocks
Customizable Announcement/News section on left something like cPanel news showing in the current paper Lantern demo
etc...

Branding Logo
Got it covered. In addition to full access to the presentation of Paper Lantern from CSS, we will also have a Branding Configuration page where you can quickly upload a logo (along with other information) which Paper Lantern will then utilize.

Customize help links
Coming soon. The branding configuration page I mention in the above reply re the Branding Logo will have the means to customize the Help and Documentation links

Add/remove icons
Adding and Removing icons is already covered by the Feature Manager and Feature Lists from WHM. Adding new icons is as simple as creating a plugin and registering it.

easy customizing of css styles
Got it covered. You'll be able to provide arbitrary CSS and related style assets which Paper Lantern will in turn use.

A possible way to add new html blocks
Coming soon in the form of UI Includes - chunks of HTML/CSS/JS (and perl) which will be included into specific hook points scattered throughout the user interface. Look for it in an upcoming demo build on go.

Customizable Announcement/News section on left something like cPanel news showing in the current paper Lantern demo
Already customizable...however, with the addition of UI Includes, it's capability is expanded.

Any idea when any of these customizations will be available? The current logo in Paper Lantern is broken on the VPS Optimized version. The logo hangs down in the wrong position, encroaching the content below it. And it doesn't match the background. It looks very unprofessional, to the point that we don't want to show it to customers. There are other various issues too, all of which could probably be fixed with the ability to upload our own logo and customize CSS.

When we can expect this, I only wait for this to mass activate theme on all our servers.

Branding Paper Lantern

I know this is a new theme but are we not allowed to brand it? I cannot find it in the brand editor or the universal theme editor. It is available and I can setup accounts to use it, so I know it is installed.
