We are planning to migrate domains from one server to another. Since the domains are many it would take some time to complete.

During the time of migration we would like to suspend cPanel backup job.

The reason for temporary suspension is to prevent spike in load, caused by the backup process, while migration is going on.

You can begin the transfer after the backup is finished.

If the transfer is is long it will still catch up with next backup.

But I just stumbled on a solution: on WHM Backup Configuration there's an option to disable the backup.

So, one just needs to disable the backup and remember to reactive once transfer is done.

    Hello,

Yes, you can temporarily disable backups via "WHM >> Backup Configuration", or temporarily remove the cron job for backups via:

"WHM Home » Server Configuration » Configure cPanel Cron Jobs"

Note that "cpbackup" refers to the legacy backup option.

    Thank you.
