Good morning, guys.
I'm experiencing a strange issue with cPanel/WHM and wonder whether anybody could lead me in the right direction in terms of searching for a cause/solution! We're running WHM 11.44.1 on a dedicated server and have two websites hosted on it. I'll call them Domain1 and Domain2 for ease of explanation! Earlier this week I was logged in to cPanel as Domain1 when I seemingly lost connectivity to the site. My browser eventually displayed a 'timeout' error but, in the mean time, I discovered that the two websites: domain1.co.uk and domain2.co.uk were unavailable. I was unable to get to WHM, cPanel or the websites themselves via HTTP. After a couple of minutes, connectivity was restored. Since that point, however, this problem arises every time I attempt to use cPanel as Domain1. I've successfully replicated the problem upon every login. Sometimes it takes a longer than others but, for the most part, I'll lose connection within a few minutes.
As a test, I've spent time browsing cPanel whilst logged in as Domain2 and haven't been able to replicate the problem. It only seems to arise when logged in as Domain1.
During the downtime I am able to ping the IP addresses of the websites successfully. However, HTTP is down. I use a tool called 'Pingdom' to check the website status and it reports the outages whenever this problem occurs (they tend to last 3-4 minutes).
I've restarted the Apache service but the problem is persisting. The 'errors' dialogue within Domain1's cPanel is blank so I can't see any reason for the problem there.
Does anybody have any ideas as to why my use of cPanel as one of two domains hosted on our server could cause our websites to drop? I've attempted to look through cPanel and WHM for related errors but so far I've not found much of use.
Thanks a lot in advance, all!
Luke.
